If you are a parent, life is busy with kids and afterschool activities and just living life. You may say, “Someday, we’ll get around to travel.”
Perhaps you want to plan a couples beachside getaway but keep putting it off. Well, why not do it when you are vibrant and can enjoy a little vitamin sea together?
And if your couples bucket list takes you to a Tahitian resort in French Polynesia? Well, you’re golden!
1. Relaxing at the Beach
These top 10 reasons aren’t in any particular order, but I think you’ll agree, that relaxing at the beach is an outstanding reason for planning a beach vacation.
When Chris and I travel together, we are usually exploring in Europe with an itinerary that is full of sites to see, excursions, museums, and churches to visit. Our schedule is often go, go go. Our couples bucket list is packed with trips where we explore Cinque Terre in Italy, paraglide from Mt. Pilatus in Switzerland, and motor around the South of France.
So, when Chris suggested a trip to a Tahitian resort where we would lounge in our Moorea overwater bungalow or be relaxing at the beach in Tahiti, I asked, “Do you think we’ll get bored doing nothing all day?”
Turns out we didn’t. We adapted quite quickly to the laid back beach lifestyle soaking up the vitamin sea. And, we are quite ready to “seas the day” and go back.
2. Staying in Overwater Bungalows
If you have never stayed in a luxury overwater bungalows, you are in for a treat. Most bungalows come complete with a back deck, views that go on for miles, and easy access to the water.
The overwater bungalows at the Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort and Spa were idyllic for our stay in Tahiti.
Room Amenities: Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort and Spa
The room is quite spacious with a couch, desk, king-size bed and a pass-through window to the bathroom area. You’ll definitely enjoy the air-conditioned comfort.
You can stand in the shower and see the Pacific Ocean at the same time.
There is plenty of storage in the bungalow with shelves and a closet, a safe, a fridge, and a coffee station. The complimentary mini bar is stocked daily with beer, water and soft drinks.

3. Enjoying a “Not Too Crowded” Atmosphere
When you are planning a beach vacation, look for tropical places or coastal vacations that aren’t too crowded. Whether you are planning a beachside getaway to a warm weather destination or a beach holiday to a cooler climate, choose a place where you can enjoy a “not too crowded” atmosphere.
While you may find that Papeete, Tahiti in French Polynesia is crowded with tourists and locals, the vibe on Moorea is relaxed and chill. Many of the tourists who do come to the island, come for a day trip. If you plan to come and stay, especially at the Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort and Spa, you’ll find a laid back atmosphere that is not overly crowded with tourists and hotel patrons.
4. Spending Time Together
The purpose of a couple’s getaway is to spend time together. Mike and Carlie Kercheval of Christian Marriage Adventures suggests that a romantic couple’s beach getaway is perfect for:
- Creating amazing and unforgettable memories
- Renewing your connection
- Enjoying the ambiance
- Resting and relaxing at the beach
I would also add that a couple’s beach getaway is perfect for:
- Enhancing your romantic relationship and adding a spark to your sex life
- Strengthening your friendship
- Giving you time to talk, share your dreams, and plan your couple’s goals
- Providing a break from the humdrum of everyday routines
- Fulfilling your adventure bucket list
- Making you excited for the next destination on your couples bucket list
- Falling in love over and over again
5. Appreciating Instagram Worthy Views
You might think you have never seen such brilliant turquoise water, stunning sunrises, colorful sunsets, or beautiful sandy beaches, but a beachside getaway offers many shades of green and blue and gold. The Instagram worthy views go on and on.

6. Boosting Your Vitamin Sea
Did you know there may be actual health benefits to enjoying a little (or a lot) of Vitamin Sea, especially when you are feeling stressed or drained?
A day relaxing at the beach can help you to rest, reduce your stress, and bring a feeling of rejuvenation. Your senses appreciate the warmth of the sun, the sound of the waves breaking on the shore, the feel of sand between your toes, and the beautiful blue of the ocean.
If you are seeking ideas for your couples bucket list, consider some time visiting the beach for your next vacation for a dose of Vitamin Sea. It may not magically make all of your problems disappear, but there’s no denying that the beach helps.

If you are coming from a snowy cooler climate, a getaway to tropical places in February is just the thing to get you over the hurdle of winter into spring.

I’m looking forward to an overwater bungalow stay someday. Maybe in the Maldives or Tahiti.
I could easily see myself spending quite a while in one of those water bungalows.
I don’t often plan a beach trip but my partner loves them so we’ve been hitting the beach more often recently. I like when there are less people hanging around so we go in the off season when the weather isn’t too cold yet.
I’m not really the type that spends a whole trip just by the beach but would really want to experience a “farniente” type of holiday in an overwater bungalow in the Seychelles or Tahiti for example. That would be my ultimate vitamin sea getaway!
Those overwater bungalows at Moorea Lagoon Resort look incredible. It’s so easy to spend your holiday time rushing to get to the next exciting activity, it’s good to slow down and spend quality time relaxing sometimes.
Staying in an overwater bungalow is on my bucket list. Thanks for the inspiration. I love the beach!
Oh my goodness this looks like the perfect getaway! Not huge crowds, beautiful teal water and lots of fun. Saving this for future inspiration!
