Nervous about traveling? I was too. My first international trip to London in 2012 was equal parts thrilling and terrifying. Did I mention it was solo? But that weekend changed everything.To ease my mind, my husband, Chris, planned very detailed instructions of where I should go at the airport, what to expect, which subway line to take, and when I should get off the subway.
I exited the blue line at Hammersmith and switched to the green line toward Upminster. I assumed I’d be riding for at least another hour—but thirty minutes in, the Tower stop was announced. I had seconds to decide. I grabbed my luggage, climbed the stairs, and walked out into a fresh London morning. I made it. ~ September 21, 2012

From Amateur to Adventure Travel Blogger
I’m a Colorado-based adventure travel blogger chasing adventures with my husband Chris since my first solo international trip to London in 2012. He was already a seasoned world traveler by then—I was just catching up. Now we’re living the empty nester life in Colorado Springs, which means we have absolutely no excuse not to go.
Chris and I started traveling with our girls when they were infants. Over the years we turned them into confident, passport-stamping travelers who can navigate an airport like pros.
Just Wander More covers everything from Colorado hiking and road trips to international adventures across Europe, the South Pacific, and beyond—with honest trip reports, practical planning advice, and photography tips along the way.
Where We’ve Been
A peek at the places we’ve explored—each one filled with
stories, surprises, and unforgettable moments.
Canada — I grew up in Southern Alberta, so it’s been fun introducing my family to some of the favorite places I visited as a young child. Chris and I visited Montreal together for the first time in 2022, and we loved visiting Vancouver Island and British Columbia in 2017.
Caribbean & Central America — We’ve explored the laid-back beaches of Jamaica, zip-lined and wildlife-spotted in Costa Rica, and discovered the hidden gem islands of Panama—each one completely different and worth the trip.
Europe — Europe is my happy place—we’ve explored Italy, France, Austria, Switzerland, Malta, Slovenia, Croatia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Czechia, Spain, Portugal, and the UK, and the list keeps growing.
New Zealand & Australia — We explored Melbourne and fell in love with the colorful beach boxes at Brighton Beach. Wellington, NZ lives up to its “Windy Wellington” nickname but has far more to offer—including a white-knuckle rafting trip on the Rangitikei River.
Philippines — Our girls’ first international trip included discovering new friends, a humanitarian trip to an orphanage, swimming in the South China Sea, and relaxing on the beach in Boracay.
South Korea — We ventured into Seoul during a long layover and managed to squeeze in a quick city visit—proof that even a few hours in a new country counts.
Tahiti — Chris and I traded our usual go-go-go travel style for a relaxing beach vacation at the Hilton in Moorea and Papeete, Tahiti—and it turned out to be exactly what we needed.
Thailand — We visited family in Bangkok, saw Wats in Ayutthaya, took an overnight train to Chiang Mai, and ziplined through the jungle.
United Kingdom — London is an obvious must, but the real magic is in Bristol, Bath, Cambridge, the Peak District, and the Cotswolds.
United States — We’re working our way through the US one state and one National Park at a time. Colorado is home base and and with so much hiking, adventuring, and exploring right outside our door, it’s not a bad place to start.
Up Next — The Dolomites are calling. We’re heading to Italy in August for a hiking adventure we’ve been planning for months. Stay tuned.
My goal is simple—inspire you to stop dreaming about that trip and actually book it.
